Anegre
(Aningeria spp.)
Description
This medium weight hardwood comes from Africa. The heartwood is a creamy
tan colour with a pink tinge. The grain is generally fairly straight but some
boards can display a very attractive fiddleback figure.
Workability
Anegre works very well using all tools. The presence of silica can cause
rapid blunting of tools
Applications
A very good furniture timber. Also used in some areas for plywood
manufacture.
Availability
We usually keep 38mm and 50mm and occasional stocks of 25mm.

Density 480 - 580 kg/m3
Durability
Not durable.
