European Beech
Fagus sylvatica
Description
A common hardwood throughout Europe. The heartwood is a pale yellow brown
and difficult to tell from the sapwood. Our timber is generally lightly steamed
which produces a pale pink colour.
Workability
Works extremely well.
Applications
Bentwood chairs, general furniture and joinery, flooring and panelling. Also
common for tool handles.
Availability
Readily available in a range of sizes.
