Chlorofora excelsa
Description
A large hardwood from Africa. Colour
often starts a pale yellow but the timber oxidises to a deep brown very
quickly. Looks like Teak.
Workability
Works well but can spring when sawn down.
The dust is quite an irritant and care must be taken. Polishes and oils well.
Applications
Furniture, carving, boatbuilding and joinery
Availability
Readily Available.

Durability
Durable.
